Product Description

The HM130 was designed for sawyers looking for more horsepower and bigger log capacity. Featuring a 14 HP Kohler gas/petrol engine, 30” (76cm) log diameter cutting capacity and a rigid 4 post head design. All major steel components feature either a powder coated or galvanized steel finish. This ensures your mill will stand up to nature’s elements. We recommend covering your mill when not in use, but if you forget, it’s good to know the mill will endure nature. The head moves up and down along galvanized steel channel via a very easy to turn hand crank system. The blade is kept lubricated by utilizing a water drip system. This prevents sap from gumming up your blade.

The mill is capable of cutting 30" (76cm) diameter logs up to 10’ 5” (3.1m) long. Additional track sections are available in 6’ 5” (1.95m) increments. Capable of squaring cants at 22" (56cm) or skimming veneers at as thin as 1/16" (2mm). The HM130 will cut within 1" (25mm) of the deck ensuring you maximize your usable board foot output.

A durable 14 HP 4 cycle Kohler gas/petrol engine powers the HM130. Featuring a slant cylinder design with a cast iron cylinder bore and overhead value for easy access. The Quad-Clean 4 stage air filtrations systems ensures only clean air enters the engine for maximum power and life of the engine. The industrial centrifugal clutch offers easy gas-and-go operation.

Track System

The head of our machine rolls along rigid 2.5″ x 4″ (63mm x 101mm) “L” channel which is cross supported with heavy duty 3″ x 6″ (76mm x 152mm) rectangle channels. These cross supports ensure the weight of the log is dispersed over a large bearing surface to avoid marking the log with indentation. These cross supports are also covered with a stainless steel cap to prevent certain woods (such as oak) from being stained from contact with painted surfaces. These heavy duty cross supports also provide additional rigidity to the track system. The track also features a simple adjustable log support to securely hold the log while milling. The track itself consists of two 6’ 5” (1.95m) sections allowing for 10’ 5” (3.1m) log lengths. Additional 6’ 5” (1.95m) tracks may be attached to accommodate logs of any length.

The HM130 utilizes standard 1.25″ x 144″ x .042″ (32mm x 3658mm x 1mm) Lenox Woodmaster hardened tipped blades which are available through Woodland Mills. Blade kerf is kept to a minimum at just .080″ (2mm) to maximize the most amount of lumber per log.

The sawmill is covered with a 2 year warranty against manufacturer’s defect and excludes wearing parts (belts, blades & bearings). The Kohler engine is covered by a 3 year commercial warranty which is honoured through any Kohler small engine dealer.

  3. Lori, Here is my Woodlands Model 130, portable band mill. Wheels with stub axles are removed at remote location and the mill bed is then lowered close to the ground and leveled by four end hand cranked jacks. On the operators side of the bed is WWII aircraft landing mats made into a off the ground walk way for the operator. The cutting length is 29 feet. The bed length is 32 feet plus an extendable towing tongue.
The band mill cuts very accurately. Will build some cabins are in the future. We have a lot of beetle kill on our mountain, lodgepole pine.
    Thanks, Phil Boettcher

  4. Here are some pics of my mill and trailer. I built the trailer in my uncles shop 2000 miles from my place and trailered it all the way home. I added a suspension and fenders for the cross country trek.I also designed and built a log roller so I can load logs without a tractor. You can see it in action in one of the pics. It works perfectly. Thanks for your prompt service. I have milled about 15 logs  so far and am starting to put a log home package together.

  9. HM130 -Best purchase I've made! The mill has been great no problems at all. Attached are pictures of the logs I cut myself that's next to the saw that I have been using to saw lumber to build my new shed. it's a working process due to the fact I work away so I try to get most done while I'm home. I will send more along as I get it fully built. Larry

  10. The saw is working well. There is a bit of a learning curve but I am getting there and enjoying the ride. I have plans to mount my 130 on a trailer and will hopefully be fully mobile by October. The pictures are of my master bedroom closet addition to my house. The walls are cedar and the floor is gum Maple. Not quite finished but coming along nicely.
